The Judovka Neighbourhood project in Daugavpils is a transformative endeavor focused on enhancing infrastructure and elevating the quality of life for residents. It involved the construction and expansion of a state-of-the-art water supply and sewer system, specifically designed to efficiently cater to the community's requirements.
The project converts a historic barn into a public building with a regional museum on the first floor and an exhibition hall on the second floor. Challenges included the deterioration of stone walls and facade over time. The restoration work began by carefully clearing the ruins, followed by excavating the foundation, implementing waterproofing measures, and installing a concrete floor slab.
The project focuses on enhancing the energy efficiency of the buildings through a range of upgrades. This includes the renovation of facades, windows, and HVAC systems, as well as the installation of new heating, ventilation, lighting, fire detection and alarm, lightning protection, and grounding systems. The aim was to optimize energy usage and create a more sustainable environment.
The building housing the 220.lv store underwent a comprehensive reconstruction inside and out, becoming Riga's largest trading platform. The space combines on-site sales, a self-pickup point, and a warehouse for goods purchased online. The area spans 2,200 m², making it dynamic and functional for both customers and employees.
The Unity House underwent meticulous renovation to preserve its historical significance. The project focused on recreating the original appearance with dark gray granite cladding and stone-paved roads. Special care was taken to preserve its historical value. Today, it serves as a cultural hub, housing the Daugavpils Theater.
The Palace of Culture and Sports has been transformed into a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing environment for cultural and sporting activities through the successful implementation of facade insulation, ventilation system restoration, roofing upgrades, and lighting improvements.
The project involved renovating the dormitory, building workshops, and a large sports hall. The sports hall is the main feature of the project. It has a size of 1030 m² and various facilities and equipment for students and staff. The building is eco-friendly and accessible, with contrasting colors for better visibility.
Preserving 19th-century materials and structures was a priority, achieved through meticulous restoration. Expansive glass windows installed in the bastion conserve heat and prevent moisture, while Italian skirting boards provide efficient floor-level heating. Purpose-built storage boxes and modern engineering systems have made the bastion vibrant hubs for art and history.
Daugavpils Secondary School No.12 has a new sports playground, enhancing the school's facilities for physical activities and sports. The playground offers a variety of sports options with high-quality flooring and a pleasant outdoor atmosphere. It promotes physical development, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle for students.
The 'Ulbrokas Muzika' Music School exterior received updates with new windows and doors, while insulation upgrades in the roof and basement improved temperature control. The school cafeteria was expanded with a 276 m² extension, and a separate building for the elementary school was constructed, providing ample space for educational activities.
Construction works at Daugavpils Secondary School No. 3 transformed the study rooms for ‘Design and Technology’ into a dedicated space that promotes learning, collaboration, and critical thinking. The project prioritizes sustainability through energy-efficient lighting, eco-friendly materials, and proper waste management. It aims to create an inspiring and eco-conscious environment for students.
The Rezekne II Railway Station project aimed to transition to sustainable heating solutions. By embracing modern technologies and renewable energy sources, the project reduces energy consumption, lowers carbon emissions, and creates a comfortable and eco-friendly environment for passengers and staff.
The multi-year residential building underwent restoration, including attic and basement insulation for improved energy efficiency. The connection to the heating system was a crucial milestone, and new radiators with thermoregulators and heat meters were installed, along with restored pipe insulation for better heat distribution. The apartments received upgrades such as plastic windows, modern plumbing, and glazed loggias.
The completion of this project has revitalized the 3rd building of the Traumatology and Orthopedics Hospital, providing improved facilities and services. The renovated spaces, expanded doorways, upgraded elevator, and enhanced medical equipment all contribute to a better patient experience, streamlined operations, and improved treatment outcomes.
The project’s result is a more energy-efficient and visually appealing Daugavpils Neuropsychiatric Hospital. The upgraded roof, windows, and doors contribute to improved energy performance, while the fresh facade enhances the overall aesthetics. The added ramps and ambulance building further enhance accessibility, ensuring the hospital can effectively serve the needs of its patients and staff.
Two completely new buildings have been built; the scope of work carried out included general construction works, various concrete works, roof covering and thermal insulation works, earthworks, dismantlement, road and square improvement works, works on water supply and sewer lines, HVAC, power supply lines, etc.
